EMS3_2014June6EMS Toronto visited our school due to some connections we have (thank you Mr. Hunter)!  Room 9 experienced the life of a paramedic and the “insides” of an ambulance when someone is in need of  medical assistance.  How exciting for young students to see firsthand the care that is taken to transport a patient on a stretcher and the security that is taken to ensure absolute health and safety for the needs of an injured person.  AND to hear and see the siren of an ambulance.  Another authentic and hands-on learning opportunity for curriculum in social studies.  Prior to this, Mr Schmelzle visited the class, sharing his role as a police officer in meeting the health and safety needs of our community.
