Grade 1/2 students visit Outdoor Ed Centre in December

Donation to the Food Bank – Dec. 18th

Attend our holiday concert tomorrow and bring a donation to our local food bank.  Our leadership team is co-ordinating this initiative to help those in need in our community.  Let’s FILL the bottom of our tree in the front foyer!!!!

Understanding the Dec. 20th PD day

As you may be aware, the Waterloo Region District School Board’s school year calendar has designated December 20, 2013, as a Professional Development Day. Students will not be at school on this day.

Garage Sale Dec. 11th in the Gym

On December 11th, our Gym will be full of gently-used “gems” to buy for all of your holiday shopping.  Proceeds will go to  Mary”s Place. Small change is appreciated.

75 Coats Donated to ONE WARM COAT

Thank you to all students and families who donated  coats and even some hats, boots and mittens to our One Warm Coat Campaign.  We are showing empathy and caring by helping  those in need.  Our November goal of Empathy and December goal of Social Responsibility have been demonstrated through your gracious giving.

Reading is Thinking

Our grade 1/2 students are learning that good readers ask questions while they read.  This allows them to really think about the meaning of the text and make personal connections.
