Our teachers continue to go deeper as learners themselves and to improve the learning and engagement of their students. Today they looked at student writing across the grades. All teachers are teaching to voice and word choice. The results are phenomenal and are the result of intentional teaching and descriptive feedback. Teaching points vary according to curriculum expectations that are being addressed.  Every piece of writing cannot have it all, especially at these grades.  Look at each piece through the lens of students learning to write using their voice and good choice of words. One is a first draft, pre-teaching and the second is post-teaching.  I am sure you will figure it out.
