November 5th, 2015
Friday November 13th is a Professional Development Day and students do not attend school. The Extended Day Program, for those students registered, will continue to operate on Friday.
On the morning of Nov. 13th, teachers and DECE’s who are not involved in the extended day program, will meet together to look at The Board Improvement Plan For Student Development (BIPSA). Using the initiatives and goals of the BIPSA, teachers will develop our Mackenzie King School Improvement Plan for Student Achievement (SIPSA). We will determine our Learning Focus and our Well-Being Focus for 2015-16 so that our Mackenzie King students can achieve excellence. Our next steps are based on data sources that include student work, observations, conversations, report card data, and formal assessment data collected for reading in all grades.
The afternoon of Nov. 13th is set aside for parent/teacher interviews. Teachers will communicate with families about these interviews. As always, parents who wish to discuss concerns they have about their child may contact their child’s teacher.
