Many people in our community do not have a warm coat to wear this winter. Our students in rooms 9 and 2 are putting our “Empathy” goal into practical action. They do not want anyone to be cold! As they learn about walking in someone else’s shoes, they are asking families at Mackenzie King to look at home for warm coats that no longer fit or are not being worn. If you have a “gently-used” warm coat at your house, send it to school between November 8th-22nd. Our students will make sure that these gifts of warmth are distributed to those who need them before the winter months really settle in. The Salvation Army will help with the distribution. If every family at Mackenzie King could donate just one coat, we could collect 135 coats! Thank you for partnering together with us as we help our students experience the gift of giving.
