Excavation began at the end of last week. Things are rockin’ and rollin’ at Mackenzie King. You will also notice a construction fence has been put up to safely define the construction traffic area and the school traffic area.

This is an inside view of the primary area. Construction should begin soon.
Our Primary Entrance is now part of the construction site and will be unavailable as an entry/exit door as of today, November 20th. Primary students will exit and enter through classroom doors in rooms 7 and 8. Rooms 6 and 7 will use the classroom door in room 7; rooms 8 & 9 will use the classroom door in room 8.
Here is the “OLD.” We will look back eventually and hardly believe what it used to be like! We are so fortunate to have such a large playground and field area. Mackenzie King has beautiful grounds!
Our construction fence is up and CRD Construction is ready to go.
In the summer, our playground was divided and moved to make room for the addition that will be built out back. The addition will house 3 full day kindergarten classrooms, 4 new classrooms, 1 special education classroom and a staff room.

Exciting things will be happening at Mackenzie King next week as our long awaited addition and renovation will begin. CRD has been awarded the contract and will be onsite as early as next week. Construction site and school site will be kept totally separate. We will post regular construction updates on this website. Attend this month’s School Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 13th to hear about the preliminaries of our construction project from our project manager, Todd McDougall and our architect, Jen Norman.
