Dear Parents,

I am writing to update you on an issue that occured this morning, which caused some inconvenience for our school community. Before school started a snow plow hit a gas line in our vicinity. Due to safety concerns students were not admitted into the school at the usual bell time, but were brought by our staff to our safe evacuation area, Canadian Martyrs School, while the fire department and Kitchener Utilities managed the problem.

Once it was declared safe for staff and students to enter the building everyone was returned to the school to continue the scheduled day. Our facilities department is currently working to ensure the building is comfortable for everyone.
